1^st National Inter DPS Science and Commerce Festival

DPS Azaad Nagar Kanpur was granted the opportunity to host the National Inter DPS Science and Commerce Festival, VIGVANIJYA by the DPS Society, New Delhi from 22nd – 24th November, 2023. 33 Delhi Public Schools from all over India participated in the event.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman of the DPS Society, New Delhi, Mr. B.K.Chaturvedi, for giving us the opportunity to host the Mega Event, which witnessed the coming together of students from various parts of the country.

Vigvanijya was a unique event comprising 8 competitive events designed with a view to bring about an amalgamation of the Science and Commerce Streams. The inter disciplinary event had 4 participants from each team under 1 Teacher Incharge.

Participants competed in the following events –

• Scicomblitz (A Quiz with a Mix)
• Sixty Seconds Wonder (JAM)
• Techpreneur (Science Model Representation & Elevator Pitch based on 3Rs)
• Jaago Aur Jagao (Nukkad Natak based on the theme ‘Prakrati Aur Manav’)
• Scivogue (Fashion Show exhibiting Cost Effective Sustainable Fashion)
• Robomania (Roboclash and RoboRace)
• Fintoons (Financial Cartoons)
• ImageAstro (Astro Photography)

The Inaugural Ceremony was conducted on 22nd November, 2023.
Mrs. Bandana Misra, Pro Vice Chairperson, DPS Azaad Nagar and Mr. Alok Misra, Founder DPS Azaad Nagar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively.

The competitive events commenced from 23rd – 24th November, 2023. The events saw a galaxy of VIPs as Chief Guests and Guests of Honour.

Each competitive event was adjudged by an astute panel of judges renowned in their own fields belonging to IIT Kanpur, HBTU Kanpur, Theatre and Television Personalities, Fashion Designers and Fashion Technology Faculty.

The National Inter DPS Science and Commerce Festival was additionally graced by Mrs. Nita Kumar, representative of the DPS Society under whose observation the proceedings took place.

The teams participated in the events enthusiastically and enjoyed wonderful residential facilities for the 3 days of the event.

The event concluded with a grand Valedictory Ceremony on 24th November, 2023 wherein the achievers were applauded and were given Trophies and Certificates. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Alok Singh, ADG Kanpur Zone and District Magistrate Mr. Vishak G. Iyer as the Guest of Honour.

The National Inter DPS Science and Commerce Festival – VIGVANIJYA has gone down as a beautiful memory in the history of DPS Azaad Nagar.
