Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava

Independence Day was celebrated with zest and fervor at DPS, Azaad Nagar, Kanpur. The Principal, Ms. Punita Kapoor unfurled the tricolour and enlightened and encouraged the students with an inspiring speech. Melodious patriotic songs were sung by the school choir. An enthralling performance was given by the students on a patriotic song. The school children excitedly chanted patriotic slogans aloud as they went along singing praises of our great mother land India during ‘Prabhat Pheri”, spreading awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. Later in the day students planted fruit bearing trees and trees which provide shelter in the ‘A Tree Plantation Drive’ in school and around school premises. They pledged to take care of the saplings planted by them. In the week long festivities of the 75th Year of Independence : Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava, students of various classes participated enthusiasticaly in activities and competitions organised on this occasion such as Patriotic Dance Competition, Patriotic Singing Competition, Poster Making, Debate Competition, Quiz on Independence struggle and Speech Competition.
